The Tristain Academy of Magic (魔法学園のトリステイン, Mahō Gakuen no Torisutein) is an educational institute established to teach aristocratic students the art of magic and the four main magical elements of fire, wind, water, and earth. Its current headmaster is Osmond.
History[]
The Tristain Academy of Magic is a building built like a pentagon with each side of it as a tower. All five towers have a different colour, corresponding to a specific element taught. It was believed that the Academy is built sometime after the founder, Brimir, since there would not have five towers if people did not know whether there was a void user or not, meaning the fifth tower was meant for teaching Void magic. Unfortunately, this tower was not used for a long time because there was no Void user until Louise de la Vallière.

Familiar Spirit Summoning Exam[]

Early in the school year, every sophomore mage performs a sacred ritual wherein a student summons his or her familiar spirit, a servant and a protector, who is likely a magical creature, who assists its master or mistress in his or her practice of magic. Through this, a magical element of a student is determined. This ritual can only be done once due to its sacredness.
Uniform[]
Students usually wear white long-sleeved clothes and pants or skirts with long coloured cloaks wherein the grade of a student is determined through his or her use of this. Freshmen wear brown cloaks, sophomores wear black cloaks, and juniors wear purple cloaks. Students pin their cloaks by means of a gold or brass pendant. It has a design of the symbol of magic. The students must have their wands or staffs with them all the time because this is how they perform spells.
